Michael Frendo Appointed Chairman Of The Democratic Institutions Sub-Commission Of The Venice Commission
At the last meeting of the plenary session of the Venice Commission in December 2015, Dr Michael Frendo was appointed Chairman of the Democratic Institutions Sub-Commission of the Venice Commission (European Commission for Democracy through Law, Council of Europe). He was also appointed a member of the Enlarged Bureau of the Venice Commission.
This Sub-Commission deals with opinions relating to one of the core areas of the Venice Commission which works in three principal areas: democratic institutions and fundamental rights, constitutional justice and ordinary justice and elections, referendums and political parties.
